The Fr. Nicholas J. Power Memorial Scholarship is open by application to all eligible students from the parish of Our Lady of Lourdes – Miramichi (St. Patrick’s, Most Pure Heart of Mary, & St. Edward’s) who are receiving their h igh school diploma in June 2 026.

 Applicants must be planning to pursue post–secondary studies/training within the next school year (2026–2027). Applicants must provide the scholarship selection committee with: 

1) A copy of their acceptance letter to a post–secondary program issued by the University/College/Institution. 

2) A brief description about how the applicant has been active within the parish of Our Lady of Lourdes (St. Patrick’s, MPHM, or St. Edward’s).

3) Two letters of reference. (Offered by non–family members who have known the applicant for at least two years, and must indicate in what capacity.)   

Please submit application to the parish office no later than Friday, May 15, 2026.

A $250 scholarship will be offered to a grade 12 student whose parents are members of ATV Club #18.

Completed applications must be returned to the main office or Ms. O’Donnell by 3pm on Friday, May 15^th, 2026, for consideration. 

The Douglastown Lions Club Scholarship consists of one (1) scholarship with a value of $1000 to be awarded to a deserving graduate from the Douglastown service area (applicants must live between French Fort Cove and Bartibogue).  The selection is based on financial need and character. See Ms. O’Donnell for a paper copy of the application. 

Applications are due to the MVHS main office by 3:00pm on Friday, May 15th, 2026.

Bursary Application Guidelines

             VALUE $500.00

The applicant must be:

Graduating from:

•  Miramichi Valley High School
•  Carrefour Beausoleil
•  James M. Hill High School
•  Blackville High School
•  North and South Esk Regional

Entering University or Community College with a preference in Social Sciences.

The following criteria will be considered:
1.  Need
2.  Involvement in the community and extra-curricular activities

Application forms are available at the guidance office of any school listed above or at the Schizophrenia Society of New Brunswick – Miramichi Chapter.

Bursary Amount: $300.00

Note: Required with this form are the following

1. A letter from the applicant stating need for bursary.
2. A transcript of marks
3. Reference letter from the Principal or a teacher
4. Letter of acceptance from University/College
