The NBAM-Irving Oil Aviation Scholarships enable students to pursue a post-secondary education
leading to excellence within the aviation or aerospace sector. This year, NBAM will award
$2,500.00 scholarships to four students to offset post-secondary education expenses and
encourage further education in the aviation or aerospace sector.
FIELD OF STUDY
Successful candidates must be pursuing a recognized post-secondary college or undergraduate
program of study relevant to the aviation or aerospace sector.
CONDITIONS
All applicants must be enrolled in an approved program or institution in Atlantic Canada. For high
school students, proof of acceptance into an approved educational program is required.
DEADLINE
Applications must be received by the NBAM-Irving Oil Aviation Scholarship Selection Committee
no later than May 22, 2026 at 4:00pm.
To Apply:
Enclose a brief (300-500 word) essay, entitled “Why I want to pursue a career in the aviation
and/or aerospace sector,” indicating your academic and career interests, including your plans for
achieving them, and why you have chosen to pursue aviation/aerospace as a career.
With this application form, please provide:

1. Most recent transcript of grades
2. *Portfolio, including a resume
3. Two letters of reference
   Final selection of the candidates may include a personal interview.

   A collection that includes, but is not limited to, copies of schoolwork, report cards, letter of
   reference, and participation and/or completion certificates. The collection is presented as a
   means to enhance the committee’s understanding of your strengths, skills, and achievements.
   **NOTE – Winners of the NBAM-Irving Oil Scholarship Award will be announced in June 2026.

Applications must be received by the Trustees no later than June 1st of each year. All students or one of his/her parents who are members of Beaubear Credit Union for 12 months preceding the application are eligible for the bursary. Applicants should be careful to answer all questions. The page on family information is strictly confidential.  It should be completed by the parent or guardian, and mailed separately to the above address.  This page will be destroyed once the Trustees have made their decision on the recipient of the Scholarship.

COMPLETED APPLICATIONS INCLUDING ALL REQUESTED DOCUMENTATION MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN JULY 15TH:

· Print clearly or type all information requested

· You must reside in New Brunswick and be a Canadian Citizen

Section II: College/University Information

· Provide the name and address of the College, Trade School, Technical School, Community College or University you will be attending.

· Bursaries are awarded to students attending facilities on a full time basis.

· Post graduate studies do not qualify.

· $500.00 bursaries are awarded to successful applicants.

Section III: Financial Information

· This section must be completed

Section IV: Military Service Information

· This section must be completed

NOTE:

· Bursaries are awarded based on financial need, with special consideration given to children and grandchildren of Veterans.

· All documentation to be included

· Ensure that the application is signed in the appropriate places

· Incomplete applications will not be considered – no follow-up will be taken

If you are a successful applicant, you will receive a letter of offer in mid to late August. Read carefully and follow the instructions. If you accept the offer of the Bursary the cheque will be made payable to, and mailed directly to, the University, College, etc. that you have chosen to attend. You will also be required to provide a copy of the “notice of acceptance” at the University, College, etc. that you will be attending
